Samantha Forbes is a PhD student in the department of Materials Science and engineering at the University of Virginia. Samatha earned her Master of Science in Mining, Geological and Geophysical Engineering at the University of Arizona in 2026, after completing a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at James Madison University in 2024.
Samantha has an interest in applying advanced characterization techniques like Transmission Electron Microscopy to novel materials and understanding their response to extreme environments.
In her free time, Samantha enjoys fencing, hiking with her dog Saber, and playing board games.
