Vivienne Alleyne is an undergraduate student at the University of Virginia studying Mechanical Engineering in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, with a minor in Materials Science.

Her interests focus on the characterization of high‑temperature and high‑strength metals, particularly in understanding how their mechanical behavior can advance renewable energy technologies. Her experience analyzing material performance in engineering contexts sparked a deep curiosity about how fundamental materials science can drive innovation in energy-focused applications. Vivienne is especially interested in the intersection of mechanical engineering and materials science, exploring how microstructural behavior influences the development of more efficient and durable systems. Outside the lab, she enjoys cooking, exploring new cuisines, traveling, and spending time with friends.
